A new Wayne Hotel in Crookston?
An Grand Forks architecture firm and a St. Paul developer recently met with Polk County officials to discuss their plans for revitalizing the stately Wayne Hotel. According to an article in the Crookston Times, JLG Architects and MetroPlains Developement showed county commissioners a $2.5 million-plus plan to turn the old hotel into a 26-unit apartment building with commercial space on street level. Although the building is in poor condition, "there was nothing in there that scared us," said Lonnie Laffen of JLG.
