$50 gets you inside Farmers and Mechanics Bank on April 27
The Preservation Alliance of Minnesota is sponsoring a party and tour on April 27 at the newly remodeled Farmers & Mechanics Savings Bank of Minneapolis. The Art Moderne building, located on 6th Street in downtown Minneapolis, has been transformed into a Westin Hotel. Here's more about the event from the Preservation Alliance press release: "Recently listed on the National Register of Historic Places, this important community landmark has been returned to productive use as the city’s newest luxury hotel. Federal historic rehabilitation tax credits were used to facilitate the development. The project team, comprised of Ryan Companies US, Elness Swenson Graham Architects, Harmon, Inc., Hess Roise and Company, and many others, sensitively integrated the new use while respecting the Bank’s historic features."
